Smile! You're on camera!
The internet is a whirlwind of glamorous content, people, food, and places. So how do you make your content stand out? Or better yet how do you produce quality content that will keeps your admirers coming back for more? We’d argue that it doesn't have to be all photoshop (although who doesn't love the auto-smooth tool) so we have complied a list of some tips and tricks to help you on your Creator journey and maximize your content to its fullest potential and PROFIT!
Presentation: “Presentation” is a loaded word full of emotional subtleties that if harnessed correctly can be a powerful thing! As an example, if you see a picture of a beautiful girl in her bedroom and there is a pile of laundry on the floor, unopened mail on a table, a dirty dish, or perhaps a rouge pet in the background, you are most likely distracted by her “life” happening around her and your focus becomes split. Whether you mentally acknowledge this or not, the background still lends energy to the “mood” of the content. Granted we all have dirty dishes and laundry in our lives but when your content and YOU are a business and really the only thing we came to see, it doesn’t lend itself to the beauty that is you! Imagine, if you will, going to work a 9-5 job and showing up with a hamper full of dirty clothes. At the very least this will raise eyebrows from coworkers, at worse nobody will want to engage with you. Neither is a desirable outcome.
Focus: Our phones are our lead tool for taking selfies, social media cruising, and the way we stay connected to the world. They are shoved in pockets, purses, and handled constantly. Smudges, fingerprints and other debris that live in a swirling vortex of Chap-sticks, loose change, and crumpled receipts at bottom of our bags and pockets can dull the lens on your camera giving your photos a blurred and albeit dull quality finish. So, grab a cloth and give them a quick whip down before you snap!
Simplicity: While interesting backdrops, professional photoshoots, and props are always fun and engaging, your every media doesn't need to be as such. We at AdmireMe think you are beautiful and you are, after all, what they have come to see. So don't feel pressured to make every post a theatrical production. A mix of both is a wonderful way to show case you in all of your beautiful lights!
